Peter, a lawyer by training, joined the Council in 1977. He was President in 1994, becoming Chairman of Council in 1995.

As a player, Peter won all 3 Junior titles in 1962 and was Senior champion in 1974 and 1977. He represented the County at all levels and in 1995 won the National 45 & over Doubles Grass Court Championships.

At National level, Peter became an LTA Councillor in 1995 and a member of the Main Board in 2001. He is the President's nominee on the Main Board and Chairman of the Coach Licensing Committee.

Peter is also a member of the Committee of Management of the Championships at Wimbledon, a director of The All England Lawn Tennis Ground plc and a member of the Joint Finance Committee.
