2009 COUNTY TALENT ID SESSIONS

Finding and developing winning performance players is a priority for tennis in Lancashire. The LTA, clubs, centres and schools sport partnerships across the County are working together to attract and retain the most talent young athletes within the sport.

For this coming year the following talent ID sessions have been planned that coaches will be able to nominate young players for. The County Talent ID session is similar to those held last year and we will expect players to have basic technique in place. The General Talent ID sessions are targeted at younger age groups and players fairly new to the game so their technique may not be developed yet. Coaches need to follow the guidelines for deciding on nominations and send through as many as you can on the nomination form below.

- Coaches may nominate any player within the age group who they consider to have potential.
- Shot shapes do not yet have to be in place but the player should be making contact and be able to maintain a short rally with the coach.
- The day will be designed to encourage players and give them a good experience.
- This session also gives us chance to track our potential players of the future.
- Players may be nominated for more than one ID day as long as they are of the appropriate standard.

If any coach has a query about a specific player they may contact Amanda Twigg (Talent Performance Coordinator) at the County Office on 01942 821194 to arrange a club visit.
